This letter reminds recipients of the effective date that the Medical Devices Directive on CE Marking comes fully into force; draws attention to the main features of the legislation which safeguards patients and reassures the user regarding safety and product performance; and advises NHS Trusts and Health Authorities of the action they need to take to ensure their organisation is prepared for compliance with this legislation.
