This letter draws attention to lessons which may be learnt from losses cases referred to the NHS Executive and fraud cases set out in the HM Treasury analysis for 1995/96. Details are given at appendices A and B. Appendix C is a summary of guidance issued by HM Treasury on 'Estates and Building Services Procurement: Prevention of Fraud and Irregularity in the Award and Management of Contracts'.
