This guidance reminds Health Authorities (HAs) of their responsibilities regarding the detection and investigation of prescription irregularities; it informs HAs of the services which the Prescription Pricing Authority's Fraud Investigation Unit (FIU) is able to provide to assist in the investigation and recommends HAs work closely with the FIU in fraud prevention, detection and investigation.
