The package contains Amendment 79 to the Statement of Dental Remuneration (SDR) and a covering letter. Amendment 79 to the SDR replaces only the corresponding sections in Amendment 78. Amendment 79 is effective from 2 December 1997 and implements a temporary palladium addition of 2% to fees in respect of certain items in Determination 1 of the SDR included in courses of treatment started between 1 December 1997 and 31 March 1998. The items are listed below. This additional payment is to compensate dentists for the supplement being charged by laboratories for items as a result of the wholly exceptional circumstances in the palladium market.
