This circular gives details of arrangements which have been made to provide CSSRs with access to the NHS Strategic Tracing Service. This will enable CSSRs to obtain and validate the NHS number for current users of social services. Access will facilitate the linking of health and social service records for initiatives integrating services such as the Single Assessment Process and the Electronic Social Care Record.
