LAC (2004)25: Charges for residential accommodation - CRAG amendment no 22

This circular announces changes to the Charging for Residential Accommodation Guide (CRAG).

Summary

This circular:I. Announces the new disregard for student childcare grants for NHS funded students.

II. Announces the new disregard for the Age related payments to pensioners over 70. Councils are reminded of the same effect on charges for home care.

III. It reminds councils that the Skipton Fund payments came into force on 12 May 2004 to people who have been infected with hepatitis C as a result of NHS treatment with blood or blood products.

IV. Reminds councils who have not returned their audited certificate of expenditure for 2002/2003 for the Deferred Payments grant that they must do so.

V. It reminds councils that the updated examples of the savings disregard are now available on the charges website.

VI. Reminds councils that from 29 October that Housing benefit is payable to people who enter residential accommodation for a short period

VII. Reminds councils Pension credit can be backdated for 12 months.
