This circular LAC(2005)9 provides guidance on the social care workforce development grants: the National Training Strategy Grant and the Human Resources Development Strategy Grant. The grants are made under s.31 of the Local Government Act 2003, and Grant Determinations (the legal document setting out the detail of the grant allocations for each local council) for each grant are also available here. This circular should be cancelled on 1 April 2008.
Provisional allocations for all of the NTS and HRDS were given in LASSL(2004)26 and are now confirmed and reproduced in Annex 1 of this Circular with a breakdown for each of the sub-programmes within the grants. Annex 2 gives the background for the sub-programmes in the NTS grant and Annex 3 does the same for the sub-programmes in the HRDS grant. Annex 4 gives a list of current training and human resource targets that are required to be met.
