This letter sets out the main aspects of the 2004-05 local government finance settlement which are relevant to the funding provided for children's social services. The figures for the children's sub block of Personal Social Services (PSS) Formula Spending Share (FSS), grant allocations where available, and other details for each authority appear in the Annexes. The planned Children's Social Services Total Formula Spending provision and level of grants for 2005-06 are also shown, in Annex A. A parallel letter, LASSL(2003)8, is issued to Councils giving details of the older people and other adults PSS FSS sub-blocks and grant allocations.
