This letter contains guidance issued under Section 7 of the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970. It is issued subsequent to the commencement of CAFCASS and in response to requests for clarification of the procedure for dealing with complaints from parents/carers and, on occasion, children about the functioning of Child Protection Conferences.
