The Care Standards Act 2000 (CSA) provides powers for the introduction of new regulations and standards for social care and independent health care services. This letter announces the publication for consultation of the transitional arrangements for the change over period from regulation of services by local and health authorities to the National Care Standards Commission. The transitional order also sets out the timetable for the commencement of key parts of the CSA and the revocation of current legislation.
