This letter (reference PL/CMO/2010/01, PL/CNO/2010/01, PL/CPHO/2010/01) contains information about the annual seasonal influenza immunisation programme for winter 2010 to 2011, including influenza immunisation for frontline health and social care staff and the poultry worker immunisation programme.

23 June 2010: erratum

Due to a typographical error in the JCVI’s statement and Table 1 of the professional letter on the influenza immunisation programme 2010 to 2011 published on 28 May 2010, it is necessary to reissue this letter.

The error was around the age below which children that have not previously received a seasonal influenza vaccine should receive two doses of vaccine.  The advice set out in the JCVI statement and the professional letter is for those under 12 years of age but the previous influenza Green Book chapter indicates below 13 years of age (as in previous years).

Both the JCVI statement and the professional letter dated 23 June 2010 now reflect the Green Book, and the amended version is attached.
