This circular encloses a copy of guidance which was prepared in consultation with the Chief Medical Officers' Expert Advisory Group on AIDS (EAGA). The guidance was produced in response to concern that there is a lack of consistency in the content of pre-test discussions. It is intended to ensure that all individuals requiring an HIV test receive appropriate discussion prior to testing.
