2006 has proven to be a relatively quiet year for the Committee. The Association of British Insurers (ABI) announced on 15 February 2006 that it will not be submitting any applications to use predictive genetic tests, including those for breast cancer, during 2006 and 2007.
The highlight of the Committee’s year was our annual public meeting, which we held jointly with the Gene Therapy Advisory Committee, on the topic of 'Realities in cancer: genetic testing, gene therapy and insurance'.
