These Secretary of State directions came into force on 22 November. Primary care trusts will be aware that the Statement of Financial Entitlements (Amendment) (No. 6) Directions introduced payment arrangements relating to pneumococcal and HiB/MenC booster vaccinations and for a pneumococcal catch-up campaign; as prefaced in the CMO letter of 12 July 2006. The SFE amendment covered children registered with GMS contractors, the new directions set out the PCT responsibility to expand the local arrangements for these vaccinations to include children registered with:- GMS contractors who do not participate in the childhood vaccinations and immunisations additional service; and PMS, APMS or PCTMS practices.
