Details

Mental health problems are common (affecting 1 in 6 adults and 1 in 10 children). Access to services is unequal and rates of illness are unevenly distributed, with higher rates in excluded groups. To deal with these problems effectively and efficiently requires a co-ordinated central cross-government focus, supporting local action, to achieve clearer parity of esteem between mental and physical health services.
