This Delivery Strategy lays the foundations for implementing the vision of Diabetes Standards. It sets out national objectives against which local NHS performance can be judged. But it also expects local health services to themselves set challenging, measurable targets that will result in tangible service improvements. This approach is in keeping with our aim of devolving responsibility to front line services. It is also the approach we shall take for future NSFs.
