The National Child Measurement Programme: guidance for PCTs  2007-08 school year

This guidance has been developed following wide consultation with primary care trusts (PCTs) and schools. It provides advice to PCTs on:

  • arrangements for measuring the height and weight of primary and middle school children as part of the National Child Measurement Programme; and
  • upload of this information to the Information Centre for health and social care (IC).

Results letter for PCTs to send to parents

DH have developed a standard specimen letter which PCTs can send to parents who have requested their child's results from the National Child Measurement Programme (found in Appendix 4 of the PCT guidance).

The specimen results letter for parents is available in fifteen languages other than English. The letters are provided in editable PDF format to enable you to enter details for your PCT.

Reminder:  PCTs should only provide the child's height and weight to parents.
