The evaluation of the second of two pilots for the healthier food mark came to an end in July.

The publication of the final evaluation report today marks the Department’s final involvement with this two year project designed to improve the nutritional content and sustainability of food served in the public sector.  A written ministerial statement of 26 July by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Anne Milton), announced that the considerable body of learning from the project would be transferred to the development of Government buying standards for food procurement by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).
