Details

This report sets out the steps the Department of Health took to engage with stakeholders prior to the publication of Improving outcomes: a strategy for cancer. Engagement included:

  • setting up a mail box, and alerting all subscribers (over 1,500) to the stakeholder engagement plan
  • using existing events to consult on the review
  • using existing advisory group meetings to consult on the review
  • through the CRS Advisory Group, working closely with multiple cancer charities, GP commissioners, cancer networks and the royal colleges
  • ensuring we sought the views of patients
  • updating the cancer type visions which were developed for the CRS
