Code of Practice to the Mental Health Act 1983 (revised 1999)

This guidance for those concerned with the admission of patients under the Mental Health Act 1983 is intended to accommodate the needs, rights and entitlements of mentally disordered persons who are detained under relevant mental health legislation. Much of the code of practice is equally applicable to informal patients.
