This report on the Government's ten-year strategy for tackling drugs is prefaced by a statement from the Prime Minister. A tabular outline is given on the anti-drugs strategy followed by a report from the UK anti-drugs coordinator, Keith Hellawell. The current drugs problem is described with the underlying principles of the strategy outlined. The four aims of the strategy are detailed: to help young people; to protect communities; to provide effective treatment; and to stifle the availability of drugs. Efficient delivery mechanisms all need to be in place, including effective UK and regional coordination, partnerships across agencies and rigorous audit and evaluation. Stationery Office Publication
