This document aims to both improve the quality of services provided by the NHS and the quality of working life of those who work in it so that both can work together to achieve the Government's targets. It is the result of a wide ranging exercise using a variety of consultation methods and stresses the importance of including human resources implications when planning work in NHS priority areas, such as Health Improvement Programmes and Primary Care Groups. A healthy and involved workforce is also of high importance. This document sets out targets and priorities, with dates for their completion.
