This second volume consists of an introductory account of the findings of the Commission together with five key reports which were either commissioned by or addressed to them. 'A framework for analysing services' is the second paper and deals with service planning especially the use of the grid. Experiences submitted by people who have suffered child abuse form the basis of the third paper. An analysis of recurring features and comments is built into the overall picture which gives a poignant view of the victims' experiences in their own words. The protection of black children is considered in the fourth paper together with recommendations, references and a bibliography. 'Research Literature on the Prevention of Child Abuse' is an overview with a substantial bibliography. The last paper deals with the effect on the children of having working parents and recommends family-friendly policies. References cited the end of each paper.
