This policy pack aims to provide support to organisations in developing and/or reviewing whistleblowing policies and procedure. The pack has been produced in partnership with Public Concern at Work. No electronic downloadable version of this document is available.
The pack includes a CD-ROM that contains:
- an introductory booklet explaining what whistleblowing is and a practical summary of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA);
- an implementation guide to help organisations successfully introduce whistleblowing policies;
- tools to help with the implementation of policies (including an implementation checklist, draft policy and PowerPoint presentation for staff);
- a summary of cases brought under PIDA (including a small number of NHS ones); and
- HSC 1999/198.
The policy pack also includes copies of two posters. The posters have been designed so that they can be adapted by NHS employing organisations to include details of named individuals that staff can approach to discuss concerns in confidence.
