The Modernising Medical Careers initiative takes a radical look at the way we train doctors, the speed and quality with which we do it and the end product of that process. It examines the opportunities for streamlining training and increasing flexibility.

This publication was prepared under the auspices of the UK Strategy Group which has has membership drawn from the Health Departments of the four UK home countries, the General Medical Council (GMC), the Joint Committee for the Postgraduate Training of General Practitioners (JCPTGP), the Specialist Training Authority of the Medical Royal Colleges (STA), the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board (PMETB), the Conference of Postgraduate Medical Education Deans of the UK (COPMeD) and the Committee of General Practice Education Directors (COGPED).
