The new career framework for healthcare scientists will support the workforce in fulfilling their potential and establish clearly defined progression pathways for healthcare science. It will also provide opportunities for the development of enhanced clinical/scientific skills, particularly at the medical scientific interface.

The introduction of the framework means that managers and HR practitioners can encourage staff to think about new roles and new ways of working that will support the recruitment and retention of staff, and will develop the capacity and capability of the workforce to deliver improved patient outcomes.
