Volunteering England have been sponsored by the Department of Health, through the Home Office funded Change Up programme, to develop best practice guidance on volunteer management with a view to supporting greater consistency in NHS Organisations' volunteer policies and volunteer management procedures.

The project has been taken forward independently by Volunteering England with a range of partners from the voluntary and community sector.  The Volunteering England guidance, Volunteers Across the NHS, compliments the forthcoming DH publication, Reward and Recognition, and has been endorsed by the Department.
