Charging for residential accommodation guide (CRAG), in support of the National Assistance (Assessment of Resources) Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/2977), gives guidance to local authorities on charging for residential accommodation. It is issued under Section 7(1) of the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970 which requires local authorities to exercise Social Services functions under guidance of Secretary of State. This guide supersedes all previous editions.
CRAG has been updated to take account of changes announced in LAC (2006)12 . These changes are shown by the use of shading.
9 May 2006: the CRAG has been amended as follows:
Para 6.068 on page 38: £14,250 updated to £15,750
Para 8.024 on page 51: £150.55 updated to £158.75
