The purpose of this guidance is to support the delivery of the PSA target to halve MRSA bacteraemia by 2008 and the Saving Lives delivery programme. The focus of this guidance is on the actions that will impact on MRSA but it recognises that the activities, if implemented will support system-wide improvement in healthcare-associated infections.
