This study was commissioned in response to a call by the Department of Health seeking research which will contribute to better understanding of the demand for Complementary and Alternative Therapies (CAM)

The aim of the study was to explore in detail the ways in which CAM is used by a diverse group of patients with cancer following diagnosis and as they undergo cancer treatment, and to examine the perceived value of CAM in coping with cancer, cancer treatment and recovery.
