Recent guidance and support on orthodontics has focused on transitional and short-term issues associated with the implementation of the new contract arrangements from 1 April 2006. In this guidance, we are moving on to providing advice and support to PCTs in relation to strategic commissioning of orthodontic services. Some transitional issues are included where PCTs have sought further refinement of existing guidance.
