This document is being published by the Department of Health and Home Office to draw upon various sources in order to provide a base line of evidence on the needs and effective treatment of young people who display sexually abusive behaviour. The aim is to provide an overview of the current literature and thinking around these behaviours and treatments for them.

The research in this area is still very much in its early stages and therefore should be viewed as pointing the way for the future development of this work.
