ONS Omnibus survey: contraception

Questions were asked on what method of birth control (if appropriate) people used and reasons for choice, changes in methods used, the use of family planning clinics, awareness of emergency methods for use after intercourse has taken place.

ONS omnibus survey: Condom use
This was a survey to find out about condom usage. Questions were also asked about whether people knew about the risks of AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases and whether the publicity of AIDs/HIV have influenced people to use a condom. Surveys were carried out as follows:

January and March 1992

January and March 1993
October and December 1993
February 1994
October and December 1994
February, October and December 1995
February, May, August and December 1996

After December 1996, questions on condoms became part of the contraception module.
