The statistics branches within all government departments, together with the Office for National Statistics, form the Government Statistical Service. Statistics are also provided to government by the Information Centre for health and social care. Statistics are used to inform debate, decision making and research both within government and by the wider community.

Code of Practice for Official Statistics

This page provides links to compliance arrangements with the Pre-release Access to Official Statistics Order 2008. Pre-release access lists to DH statistics and information on disclosure issues are also given.

Review of Central Returns (RoCR)

The ROCR process ensures that central collections of information are appropriate to their purpose, do not duplicate existing collections, and minimise the burden on the NHS of submitting the data.
