Reducing MRSA and other healthcare associated infections in renal medicine

The Saving Lives delivery programme to reduce healthcare associated infection like MRSA sets the framework for trusts to make significant reductions in their rates of infection and improve quality, reliability and safety. The delivery programme tools have been specifically adapted to support improvement in HCAI in renal medicine. The new tools are detailed with links to respective documents

A. Self assessment, future actions and balanced scorecard

Using 9 key organisational challenges the self assesment tool allows trust to align their renal strategy to reduce HCAIs with that of thier organisational plan. This is done through completion of the self assesment tool and use of related resources.

B: Renal catheter care dialysis care bundle - high impact intervention 2C

If used properly this high impact intervention will support renal units and reduce the risk of infection to patients.
