Radiation Protection Research programme
The purpose of the Radiation Protection Research programme, on the health effects of exposure to ionising radiation and to electromagnetic fields, is to help guide Government policy in the field of radiation protection.
Nanotechnologies
The Department of Health is pleased to be represented on the Ministerial Group that provides this recent statement on nanotechnologies. Nanotechnology offers potentially huge benefits for healthcare and improving quality of life, as well as a response to some of the key issues such as climate change. The Government's aim is for the UK to derive maximum benefit from these new technologies and their products, but for this to be done in a way that safeguards health and the environment, addressing the aspirations and concerns of the public.
