The Genetics Commissioning Advisory Group was set up to take a strategic national overview of genetics in healthcare delivery. It aims to provide advice to commissioners of genetics services to enable them to provide appropriate services for NHS patients and their families.
Members are drawn from relevant professional bodies and groups and Royal Colleges, an umbrella patient support group (the Genetic Interest Group - GIG) and from the specialised commissioning groups which commission these services in the NHS.
GenCAG now meets twice a year. The next meeting will be on 29th April 2009. Dates for meetings in 2009 are 29th April 2009 and 7th October 2009
The group usually agrees a final version of the minutes at the following meeting so, for example, the April minutes would be agreed at the October meeting.
Note: GenCAG did not meet in January 2005 or July 2007.
