The Advisory Group on research and development priorities for people with Physical and Complex Disabilities (PCD) was established in November 1992 under the chairmanship of Professor Lindsay McLellan. This was the first attempt to address the R&D needs of a particular client group in the health service. The primary aim of the Group was to provide the Central Research and Development Committee (CRDC) with an ordered list of research and development priorities for a comprehensive programme of R & D work in the field of physical and complex disabilities.
