The Department of Health, England works extensively with other Government departments where there are shared objectives in R&D.
On 28 June 2007 the Government created the new Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS). This new Department brings together functions of the Office of Science and Innovation from the former Department of Trade and Industry with further and higher education and skills, previously part of the Department for Education and Skills.
