The Learning Disability Development Fund (LDDF) supports the implementation of the valuing people White Paper.

Priorities

The Learning Disability Development Fund (LDDF) supports implementation of the valuing people whitepaper by providing significant funding directly to primary care trusts. In 2006 to 2007 the fund was £42.6 million and for 2007 to 2008 it has been increased to £43.7 million.

The Government's priorities for the use of this funding in 2006 to 07 are:

  • strengthening advocacy and best practice
  • encouraging approaches that are centred around the individual
  • developing leadership
  • modernising day services
  • NHS campus re-provision
  • supporting living approaches for people living with older family carers
  • increasing the number of people with learning disabilities in paid work.

The priorities for 2007-08 will be announced shortly.
