Learning Disability Task Force

  • Last modified date:
    21 December 2007

The Learning Disability Task Force met for the first time in December 2001. It was set up following the recommendations of the Government White Paper: Valuing People.

The role of the Task Force is:

"to monitor and support implementation by acting as a champion for change and improvement at local level. Drawing on the knowledge and experience of members, the Task Force will also offer advice to Government on the continuing development of learning disability policy."

The Task Force works in an accessible format to ensure that all members have an equal opportunity to voice their ideas.  Anyone presenting to the Task Force is expected to do so in an easy-read accessible format.  All meeting notes and minutes are also produced in accessible format.
