Mental health and social care
Whilst mental health is a stand alone topic in itself, there are areas where it overlaps with social care services. There are several areas in particular where this is relevant.
Dignity in Care
In August 2007, the Parliamentary Secretary for Care Services, Ivan Lewis, announced an extension to the Dignity in Care campaign to include specific areas for people with mental health needs.
Bereavement
The social care and support people receive at the time of a bereavement can affect their entire bereavement process.
To assist those who have been bereaved by suicide or other sudden traumatic death, there are publications with further support and information.
