Results of dentistry patient survey

The latest survey of patients’ overall experience of NHS dentistry and their experience of accessing NHS dental services has been published.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Key points from the GP patient survey dental statistics July to September 2011 survey are:

  • 83 per cent of respondents rate their overall experience of NHS dental services as good
  • 92 per cent of those who have tried to get an NHS dental appointment in the last two years were successful (94 per cent success rate excluding the can’t remember category)
  • of those who have not tried to get an NHS dental appointment, the most common reason give was that they did not need to visit the dentist (20 per cent of those who have not tried).
