The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the NHS Medical Director has written to senior managers in the NHS raising awareness of the MHRA Medical Device Alert, making recommendations about the management and monitoring of patients with Metal on metal hips, and the accumulating evidence which should be used to make an informed decision about patient treatment.
