An invitation to apply to join the health and care voluntary sector strategic partner programme is launched. This new system wide programme will build on the successes and lessons learned from the DH Voluntary Sector Strategic Partner Programme. The invitation is sent from the Department of Health (DH), NHS Commissioning Board (NHSCB) and Public Health England (PHE).

The Health and Care Voluntary Sector Strategic Partner Programme will invest in a number of national voluntary organisations who will work collaboratively across health and care systems to:

  • increase capability and knowledge within voluntary and community sectors to support effective engagement in the health and care system, evidenced by improved relationships between voluntary sector and statutory sector agencies at national, regional and local level
  • have productive and transparent relationships between DH, NHSCB, PHE and the voluntary and community sector, bringing the sector’s voice and expertise into national policy making

The health and care voluntary sector strategic partner programme 2013 to 2014 information pack provides voluntary sector organisations with information to help them decide if the programme is applicable to their organisation. Organisations should read this information carefully. It also details the DH, NHSCB and PHE priorities and outcomes the voluntary sector will help to take forward in 2013 to 2014 through investment in strategic partners, as well as the criteria for assessing applications.

The deadline for applications is 12pm on 9 January 2013.
