On the agenda: Sir David Nicholson writes to all NHS staff encouraging them to put innovation at the heart of efforts to deliver high quality care to patients. Meanwhile, improvements in the fight against the five big causes of death, including new plans to tackle cardiovascular diseases, which could save 30,000 lives by 2020, have been announced by Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt.  Finally, a hard-hitting campaign, which aims to save lives by showing people how to spot the signs and symptoms of stroke, returns to TV screens this week.
