The Third Sector Investment Programme replaces the Section 64 General Scheme of Grants from 2009 - 10.

The Investment Programme, which replaces the Section 64 General Scheme of Grants from 2009-10, has been informed and developed through a wide ranging consultation with third sector organisations.
The funding programmes closed for applications on Monday 8 September 2008. Applicants will be notified of the result by 3 October 2008. Applications for funding in 2010-11 will be invited after April 2009.
The Secretary of State for Health, through the Section 64 General Scheme of Grants (S64 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968), has power to make grants to voluntary organisations in England whose activities support the Department of Health's policy priorities.

The Section 64 (S64) Review Group was established by DH in September 2002 to address concerns as to whether DH was adequately meeting the Compact requirements with regard to grants made under S64.
